04/06/2001 So much for the rock solid launch date...em three will (hopefully) be ready for the emfoundation 3rd birthday party, which will be on 13th July. The official launch date for press purposes will be early August. Also, there is now a messageboard, where you can leave messages, and ask questions, and I will reply. I'll probably post news up there as well, from time to time. Especially, if anybody knows of any reviews which aren't listed on the reviews page, I'd be very grateful if they could post them. Finally - I'd like to put out a missing persons report on Peter G. Mackie. He sent some music and writing for me which I would like to use in em three and I've been unable to contact him to tell him. His last address was in Blairgowrie near Perth, in Scotland. I know it's a long shot, but if anyone knows him, could they contact me ASAP. Cheers.
12/03/2001 Sorry about the extended silence - you know how it is, working for the man. Well, I'm still here. And I have a rock-solid launch date, finally. It is June 29th 2001. I'm still looking for weird and wonderfully music though. In terms of web news, I've added the reviews of em two to the reviews page. 23/10/99 I've added mp3 clips from the em two compilation. Absolutely marvelous. Oh - and there's a free service at the bottom of this page, where you can sign up to get an email informing you when I update this page (and by that token, the site). It's all done automatically, so muggins here can't forget to let you know...
23/10/99 I've added some stuff to the links pages - you can now search directly from the links page to the pages of AlphabetStreet and AudioStreet, for books and music respectively. It's one of the better UK based organised for ordering books and music, and I've signed up to their affiliate scheme, so if you use the search on the links page and order something, em will get a few pence. A great way to make a little donation to the cause. All proceeds (as with everything else) will be poured (or trickled) straight back into the production of the next issue. You'd probably have to buy about 500 copies of the Encyclopaedia Britannica to pull us out of the red, however. 23/10/99 I've added to the critical ravings about em one to the reviews page. 09/10/99 Right - here are the new bits that I've added to the website in the course of its redesign:
07/10/99 Hope you like the new website. It's been a struggle after a hard day at the orifice to have to pick up the old virtual scribe. But it's worth it, I think. I'm still after music for em three, so if you know anyone with a Bontempi keyboard (remember them?) and a song, get them to send me a tape. There's no limits for style or content, but we're certainly looking for the unusual, as well as the tuneful. Not wishing to blow our own trumpet, but previous contributors have gone on to get record contracts and even appear on ITV! As with the writing, we're only open to music made in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland.
Stay tuned! Karl Sinfield, editor |
